Our third concert program honors community and tradition. Dvořák, Britten, and Bartók are all strongly identified with the music of their native lands. Benjamin Britten wrote the darkly poetic Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings for his life partner of 40 years, singer Peter Pears, and their friend Dennis Brain.

The evening opens with Hugo Wolf's masterpiece, the Italian Serenade. Half-priced tickets are available for all patrons aged 30 and younger.

For the first time, New Century will hold an open rehearsal at Herbst Theatre, Wednesday, March 3 at 10am. $8 general admission tickets will give patrons an insider’s view of the rehearsal process. Click here for more details.

New Century will participate in Orchestras Feeding America 2010, a food drive organized by the League of American Orchestras, and will accept donations to Bay Area foodbanks at each performance.
