Finance Director

Position

The Finance Director manages the day-to-day finances of the Orchestra, including responsibility for all cash receipts, accounts payable, and cash disbursements. S/he will produce monthly financial statements, produce monthly cash forecasts, maintain the cash receipts journal, prepare bank deposits, post all receipts into MYOB accounting, enter invoices into purchases journal and monitor the journals for all open invoices, prepare checks for such invoices, prepare a check register, maintain the accounting database including contributed and earned income, and prepare for annual accounting audits.

The Finance Director will also work with the Executive Director and administrative staff to prepare annual operating budgets, project budgets, and budgets and other financial statements for grant proposals. S/he will also prepare sometimes detailed financial statements for strategic planning and other trustee functions, and will attend bi-monthly trustee meetings.

The Finance Director will also do other such projects as assigned periodically by the Board or the Executive Director; s/he reports the Executive Director.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: $36,000 - $40,000 for three days per week, paid vacation. Hours are flexible.

REQUIREMENTS: Facility with MYOB accounting program, extraordinary attention to detail. Experience working with trustees in a non-profit setting is desirable.
